Trunk or Treat

Our church hosted its first Trunk or Treat on Halloween. It was a huge success, and we had a blast. Makayla was a beautiful Sleeping Beauty, and Gabe was a ferocious tiger. My hope was that he would be walking for Halloween so that he wouldn't try to crawl around everywhere in his costume. I got my wish! He was so cute! We didn't have much time to decorate so we opted for easy and our trunk was a hunter, aka Will, in a hunting blind.

My Little Walkers

Gabe has finally got the hang of walking and is now choosing to walk instead of crawl.

Oh boy! We better watch out!

And one more..

.
Makayla wanted to show her skills too.

A Trip To Old MacDonald's Farm

We took a nice family trip to a local petting zoo with a pumpkin patch of sorts.
It was such a great day. The perfect fall family day.

I've come to realize the impossibility of getting a child to look at the camera and smile at the same time.

This is difficult at every age..

At least they're cute, despite who or what they are looking at!

Our family.

Gabe wasn't so impressed with the animals.

I thought Makayla would be too scared to get on the horse. She surprised me! But she did hang on for dear life!

Makayla finally warmed up to the animals- after she checked out the playgrounds.

Waiting for the train.

Makayla loves trains! Except Thomas...

Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas Card Photos?? - A money saving entry

Ok- so can it really be that time again? Christmas seems to be rapidly approaching whether I'm ready or not. Lately, I find myself already browsing for Christmas picture outfits. Cannot possibly believe it is that time already!

Our family has the typical tradition of sending out photo holiday cards, and I've been out there searching for just the right one. Shutterfly seems to have some some very beautiful ones. Just take a look! I love the ones with all the pictures. I'm beginning to think that maybe we don't need a fancy portrait season to create the "best" holiday card. Some of the cutest ones here are the candid pictures taken informally. Still I can't seem to get past the typical family picture, as that is usually the only formal family picture we have all year, and I love to see how everyone has grown and changed over the year. Hmm, decisions, decisions.

I did notice that Shutterfly is offering 20% off all holiday cards!  If I remember from last year, it's best to order early for the best prices. You may also let yourself off the hook of having to plan a photo shoot and just use candid photos from this last year. Seems they make some pretty cute cards! And hey- you can already cross something off of the never ending Christmas "to-do" list!

So Here Goes-

So I've decided to give this "blogging thing" a try. I think it will be a good way of keeping people in touch with our lives as a family, as well as, documenting it down for our own personal records. From time to time, you may find that I post a few extra things as well. As most of you know, I tend to run across great offers and deals, and I may include those in here as well if I think it may interest you. For the record, I don't promise consistency. This is merely an experiment as I am not a typical journal-er. So here goes...
